Steaming Instructions

To cook the tamales, you will require a steaming pot with sufficient water (the water should not touch the tamales). Make sure there is enough room for the tamale to stand upright; this is about 6.5 inches. Place the pot on the stove at a high flame. You can cover the top of the pot with aluminum foil to help retain the heat. Cooking time if not frozen is about 90 mins; if frozen, you should cook them for about 1 hour and 45 min. They can be taken out of the freezer and steamed; just make sure they are not stuck together so the steam can get all around the tamale and cook it evenly.
